The Film LAB
Produce a Film in 1 Week!
The Film Lab is a one-week filmmaking program running from Monday to Friday, 9:00–16:00.
Participants work together as a film crew to create one short film from start to finish. They develop the story from scratch, hold castings, shoot scenes, record sound, and take part in editing
Along the way, they learn the fundamentals of storytelling, directing, camera work, sound, and teamwork through hands-on production experience.

Language: Primarily English, but Portuguese is also spoken.

The FILM LAB

We welcome participants aged 10 and up. Younger siblings may also be able to participate—please contact us to discuss options. Many 14- and 15-year-olds also enjoy the program.

The program is conducted primarily in English, and the final film will be produced in English.
We are a multicultural group, and Portuguese is also used when needed to support understanding and collaboration.

Participants should bring:
A packed lunch and snacks
Comfortable clothing suitable for both indoor and outdoor activities
We will also provide additional snacks and water throughout the day.

Please note that activities may change depending on the group dynamics and the film being created.

Participants will work with semi-professional filmmaking equipment, including professional cameras and film production tools. We do not use mobile phones for filming activities.

The type of film created depends on the group’s ideas, interests, and collaboration. Activities and projects are adapted to the participants and the creative process.

Family and friends are invited to a premiere on the last day of the program, where they will watch a rough cut of the film.
The final version is later uploaded to our private YouTube channel, where participants and their families can watch it at their convenience.
