Cancellation & Refund Policy

At Young Filmmakers' Lab, places in our programmes are limited so that each participant can receive individual attention and have meaningful opportunities to contribute creatively. Once a place has been reserved, we begin planning staffing, resources, equipment and activities based on confirmed enrolments.

Summer Film Labs

Payment

Full payment is required at least 2 weeks before the camp start date to secure your child's place.

Registrations that remain unpaid after this deadline may be released to families on the waiting list.

Cancellations Before Camp Begins

If you need to cancel your child's registration, please let us know as soon as possible.

• More than 14 days before the camp starts: Full refund.

• 7–14 days before the camp starts: 50% refund.

• Less than 7 days before the camp starts: No refund, unless we are able to fill the place from our waiting list.

Cancellations Once Camp Has Started

Participants who withdraw after the camp has begun are not normally eligible for a refund. Staffing, planning, materials and resources have already been arranged based on confirmed enrolments.

Exceptional Circumstances

We understand that unexpected situations can arise, such as illness or a family emergency. Requests for a refund or credit in exceptional circumstances will be considered on a case-by-case basis at the discretion of Young Filmmakers' Lab.

Year-Long Film Lab

Film Lab is a year-long programme following the school calendar. Places are limited, and the monthly fee reserves a participant's place in the group throughout the programme.

Payment & Enrolment

The monthly fee is €85, with an annual registration fee of €20.

The monthly fee is payable regardless of individual attendance, as it reserves a place in the programme and covers ongoing planning, resources and programme development.

The Film Lab calendar, including school holiday breaks, will be published in advance.

Participant Absences

If a participant is unable to attend a scheduled session, the session cannot be refunded, credited or made up at another time.

This includes absences due to illness, holidays, appointments or other personal commitments.

Withdrawal from the Programme

Families who wish to withdraw their child from Film Lab should provide one month's written notice.

The monthly fee remains payable during the notice period.

Exceptional Circumstances

We understand that unexpected circumstances can arise. Requests relating to prolonged illness, significant family circumstances or other exceptional situations will be considered on a case-by-case basis at the discretion of Young Filmmakers' Lab.

Cancellation by Young Filmmakers' Lab

If Young Filmmakers' Lab needs to cancel a scheduled session, families will be given as much notice as possible. Where appropriate, we will offer a replacement session or another reasonable arrangement.

If Young Filmmakers' Lab needs to discontinue the programme before the end of the school year, families will be notified and any applicable unused fees will be addressed accordingly.

Programme Activities & Group Dynamics

Our Film Labs are collaborative creative experiences. Participants work together to develop ideas, write, plan, film and edit their projects.

Learning to collaborate, negotiate ideas, solve creative disagreements and work as part of a team is an important part of the filmmaking process. Participants may have different personalities, communication styles and creative ideas, and learning to work together is part of the experience.

If your child is experiencing difficulties or feels uncomfortable during a programme, we encourage you to contact us as soon as possible. We will make reasonable efforts to support participants and, where appropriate, work with families to address concerns.
