Activities

The Young Filmmaker’s Lab is a creative space where children step into the exciting world of cinema. Through fun, hands-on workshops, students bring their ideas to life. They create original stories, write scripts, act, direct, and film. We believe every child has a story to tell. Our goal is to build confidence and creativity, and to encourage collaboration and problem-solving skills.

Our film production workshops — Film Clubs — are offered as extracurricular activities at CAISL (Carlucci American International School of Lisbon) and OIS (Oeiras International School).

SUMMER LABS 2026

This summer we are offering two cinema workshops.

Film Lab is a collaborative filmmaking experience where participants work together to write, shoot, and edit a short film in one week.

Film Art Lab explores the creative work that happens before a film is made. Participants develop their own film concept and bring it to life through character design, costume design, production design and visual world-building.

Make a Film in 1 Week!

Who’s it for?

Kids and teens who want to explore directing, camera work, sound, editing, and storytelling while working together to create a short film.

Outcome:

One short film created by the entire group.

Ages: +10

Imagine a Film. Design Its World.

Who’s it for?

Teens who love cinema, drawing, design, storytelling, characters and visual storytelling.

Outcome:
Develop an original film concept and create a portfolio of connected projects, including character design, costumes, production design and visual references.

Ages: +12

Note: No film is produced in this workshop. Instead, participants create the creative vision and design materials that would guide a future film production.
